Dinner at La Tasca

Last night, my friend and I decided to explore the Quayside in search of a spot to grab dinner. Initially, we had our hearts set on dining at Gusto, but we stumbled upon a charming Spanish restaurant right next door called La Tasca. Curious, we stopped to check out the menu – and we were pleasantly surprised by how affordable the prices were, especially given how modern and stylish the place looked. If you’ve ever been to La Tasca, you might already know what I’m talking about, but since it was my first time, I was excited to try something new at such reasonable prices. If I remember correctly, the dishes started at around £4!

Stepping inside, I was instantly taken by the restaurant’s décor. The interior was gorgeous, with tables arranged to face the open kitchen, allowing diners to watch the chefs in action (check out the pictures above if you want to see what I mean!). Each table was decorated with a beer bottle-turned-candle holder, complete with overflowing wax and a tall red candle, which added a warm, rustic touch to the space. The whole vibe felt fresh, inviting, and cosy – and the customer service was just as impressive.

That said, I should mention that the portions were on the smaller side, more like tapas or side dishes rather than full entrées, which probably explains the lower prices. We ended up ordering a few different dishes to satisfy our appetites! But overall, it was a fun experience, the food was tasty, and I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for something a bit different without breaking the bank.
